Ryder Cup Aid For Swedish Junior Pro-Am
The PGA of Sweden is to receive a grant from the Ryder Cup European Development Trust, to support its annual Gore Tex PGA Junior Pro-Am which has been run, for the past 12 years but had been facing an uncertain future.
The possibly unique event gives at least three juniors from each club the opportunity to play together with their PGA Pro. One of the trio of juniors has to be a girl.
As The PGA of Sweden’s application for a RCEDT grant explained: “Gore Tex PGA Junior Pro-Am is a great opportunity for every PGA Pro to offer their Club and its juniors a highly appreciated and developing tournament.
“Later in life you often remember those special occasions or activities you experienced as a child, or junior golfer. It can be various things like a trip with your school class, a summer holiday or a special training camp or tournament within your chosen sport. The PGA of Sweden in cooperation with our six Districts, arranges this Pro-Am which has become just that... a special activity, something to remember for a long time.”
