Global Golf Development Goes on…and on!

The Golf Development Programme, run as a joint initiative between The R&A and the PGAs of Europe, is continuing to spread the gospel of golf ever wider.

As the advantages of the scheme that is funded by surpluses from The Open Championships become increasingly clear to those new countries wishing to introduce a golfing culture, the network gets bigger by the year.

There is hardly a region anywhere in the world that has not been assisted by The R&A and visited by a PGA professional, with it such countries as Panama, Uganda and Zambia about to join what is beginning to look like golf’s own version of the world wide web.

Recent applications approved by The R&A and forwarded to the PGAs of Europe to select a suitable consultant/tutor will see visits made to Africa, Asia, Central America, South America and Eastern Europe in the coming months.

The countries involved are Bangladesh, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, Ghana, Latvia, Libya, Panama, Tunisia, Uganda and Zambia.
