Job Description

The PGAs of Europe are seeking a Tournament & Special Projects Manager to manage and develop the Association’s event schedule on a full-time basis.

The candidate will work alongside tournament organisers, venues and event partners to manage the ongoing administration, finance and communications/promotion of both the Association’s own Championships and its Sanctioned Events with third parties.

The candidate will report directly to the Director of Communications & Marketing from both the operational side of coordinating these events, and also for the pre-, during, and post-event promotion and communications.

The role is a permanent, full-time position with general office hours of 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday based at PGAs of Europe Headquarters at The Belfry, England, but with frequent out-of-hours work and international travel required.

  • Ensure that all PGAs of Europe events are managed and delivered to the highest achievable standards

  • Liaise with event organisers, venues, Professionals and Tournament Staff to ensure that each event is delivered to the required standard

  • Develop and manage the annual tournament schedule, planning for the future year and control staffing requirements

  • Manage all pre, post and on-site administration relating to each event, including the preparation of agreements/contracts with event owners

  • Complete all event travel and transportation bookings for Tournament Staff as and when required

  • Manage and ensure consistency in the use of the brand and logo at all events

  • Manage tournament policies and procedures for the Association

  • Ensure that the Chief Executive receives accurate and timely post event reports, tournament control forms and prize fund payment files for sign off

  • Work alongside the finance department to ensure timely payment of prize funds

  • Ensure timely completion of company expenses including floats and recharges to event organisers

  • Provide the Executive Assistant with accurate entry information in order for prize fund and administration invoices to be issued at the correct level one month prior to the event

  • Manage the content production, media releases/updates, and social media presences for the tournaments across all relevant PGAs of Europe media platforms under the guidance of the Director of Communications & Marketing

  • Ensure consistent, accurate and comprehensive event communication and promotion before, during and after events

  • Together with the Director of Communications & Marketing, be the point of contact for the PGAs of Europe Travel Club – dealing with the members and sponsors

  • Dealing with general enquiries by phone and email

  • Provide support (administration and logistical) to the Director of Communications & Marketing and Executive Assistant as and when required

  • Responsibility for ensuring that all office equipment is adequate to meet the needs of the organisation

  • Manage and assist other projects from time to time as directed by the Chief Executive

  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Must be detail orientated and able to deliver accurate work within established deadlines

  • Must be able to travel internationally and at times extensively

  • A passion for, and understanding of, golf

  • Current valid passport
